Worden & Co. figured largely in the Arthur H. Ross will recorded in the books of the clerk of court at Missoula Mills July 5, 1872.

The document reads: “I am on the eve of a voyage down the Hell Gate and Missoula rivers and should by accident I lose my life (or come to my death) while I am gone, I desire Worden & Co., to settle all my business and to Emile Henke, M.D., I give and bequeath $1,500 in drugs and medicine at the cost valuation here. All my other property I give and bequeath to Worden & Co., merchants . . . “

The will continues “I do not desire” to notify relatives in the event of death.

Ross died July 6, the day after he wrote and recorded his will.
