Airport Project Under Way at End of 1930s
One of the biggest projects under way in this area as the 1930s came to a close was the Missoula County Airport west of the city. When this picture was taken early in 1940 drainage structures were being installed for runway No. 1. The drain pipe was manufactured at the airport site. Thousands of feet of trench were excavated for the drainage system.
