Early Store of Higgins and Worden at Hell Gate

This small structure with its sides of hewn logs served as a store for Francis L. Worden and Christopher P. Higgins at Hell Gate before the two moved their operations east to the present site of Missoula. Seated at the corner of the building is Frank H. Woody, who came with the two from Walla Walla as a clerk. (Courtesy of Mrs. James Thompson, Victor)
