McCormick Home – Oldest Missoula Home

McCormick Home of Early Days

The Washington J. McCormick home built in 1869 in the 100 block of North Higgins avenue was one of the state’s social centers in territorial days of the state. It is the oldest structure in the city still occupied as a home.

 

Oldest Home in City as it Looks Today

This home in the 400 block on McCormick street was constructed in 1869 by Maj. Washington J. McCormick. It was built in the block occupied today by Hotel Florence and other business structures then moved as the business district expanded.
