Kramer Family Reunion – 14 Children

14 Children at Reunion [Kramer Family]

Fourteen children from the same family met together for the first time in a family reunion in the Garden City last weekend.

Those meeting here were sons, daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren of Adolph Kramer, a former Missoula resident, who now lives in Seattle.

The Kramers came to Montana from Wishek, N.D., in 1935 and settled in Charlo. They moved to Lolo in 1939 and to the East Rattlesnake in 1944, where they remained until Mrs. Kramer’s death in 1955.

The children had never been together on any occasion, because by the time the last ones were born, the oldest had moved away and established their homes. The eldest in the family is now 57 and the youngest, 27.

Activities of the reunion included a dinner at the Bethel Baptist Church for all the families with 60 in attendance, a day spent at Lolo Hot Springs, swimming and picnicking and a dinner party for the adults at the Frontier Lounge.

Festivities were concluded Sunday with all families attending church and then a picnic with family and friends at Pattee Canyon.

Those attending the reunion from California were Ed Kramer, South Pasadena; Mrs. Jim Byears, Los Angeles; Mr. and Mrs. Al Kramer, Billy and Karen, Covina; Mr. and Mrs. Reno Kramer, Jeffrey and Dana, Walnut Creek and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hill, Valerie and Susan, Covina.

Attending from Seattle were Mrs. Charles Park and Lavonne; Mrs. George Carter, Alan, Celia and Sharon and Miss Magdaline Kramer.

Others attending were Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Kramer, Kim, Pamela and Julie, Columbus, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Don LaVoie, Steve, Brad, Rena and Scott, Lyons, Colo; Mr. and Mrs. Marion Kramer, Renee, Doug and Dale of Stanford; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kramer, Carol Anne, Dale and Susan, Spokane.

Attending from Missoula were Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kramer, Rick, Wendy and Kevin; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Armstrong, Sherri, Vikkie, Ronnie and Kenneth, and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Fehr, Lori and Lanette.

Reno, Leo, Marion, Clifton, Florence, Arlene, Ralph, Frieda and Betty all attended Missoula County High School.
