The above article is from The Missoulian, March 15, 1914.
John Brechbill was married to Ellen Silverthorne Brechbill in 1884. She was a daughter of John Silverthorne, the Bitter Root pioneer. He came to Missoula in about 1880. He was educated in common schools in Missouri and then took up the carpenter trade at which he worked for a number of years. By 1904 he was “superintending the construction work in the erection of buildings,” – among them, in Missoula, were the County Court HouseHou, Montana Block, Masonic Temple, and Elk’s Hall. They were the parents of 3 children. He died at age 84 in 1945 and is buried in the Missoula City Cemetery.
