“The Episcopal Church was introduced to Montana in 1867 by the Rt. Rev. Daniel S. Tuttle. Bishop Tuttle conducted the first protestant and Episcopal services held in Missoula in 1870 after a 19-hour stagecoach ride from Deer Lodge.”
