The Dixon and Hoon Shoe Store, first known as Dixon’s Foot Form Shoes, was started in Missoula in 1905 by William N. Dixon, Sr. at 316 North Higgins. Operations later moved to 333 North Higgins and still later to 321 North Higgins. In 1927 headquarters moved to 133 North Higgins.
