Alberton Royalty – The Wolvertons

Van and Jeanne Wolverton – Real Alberton royalty

Any time you have driven from Idaho to Missoula you have probably noticed the large log home across the Clark Fork River a few miles before you reach Alberton. The 7,000 square foot log home sits like a monarch on the hill south of the river, where it has a grand view of a piece of Montana real estate. The owners were Jeanne and Van Wolverton who became part of the social fabric in that area not long after they arrived in the mid-1980s. They lived there for over 20 years until 2009 when they decided to move closer to their kids in California. Van was a successful author of several software books that came out in the 1960’s.

If you read about them it isn’t hard to understand why they were liked and respected in the area. Good Luck to them.

Below is a link to an article about them by Michael Moore of the Missoulian and a short biography from O’Reilly Media.
