A Really Big Blackfoot Trout – 1900

Austin Hartley is keeping up his reputation as a fisherman. Notwithstanding the prevailing high water, and the fact that the season proper for fishing is not open until July, the local nimrod came into town yesterday lugging an immense trout which weighs, dressed, 11 ½ pounds. It was caught in the Big Blackfoot and is on exhibition at the Hotel Missoula where it will be served to Mr. Hartley’s guests at dinner this evening.
