Dick Doyle Discus Champ

Dick Doyle won the NCAA discus championship in 1950 with a toss of 171 feet 5 inches, the best Montana throw in history. Doyle earlier as a Montana Grizzly won the discus throw in the Pacific Coast Conference and Northern Division meets and also toured Europe with an American track team and achieved notable wins for the 1952 Olympics in California, Doyle suffered a fractured neck while diving on the seashore and was eliminated by the injury.
