Teslow Inc. Operates Widely in Montana
The elevator and mill which houses Teslow Inc. dates back to 1920 when it was operated by the Missoula Mercantile grain department.
In November 1948 it was sold to Centennial Flouring Mills of Seattle and in 1957 it became the property of Teslow Inc. This company had been organized ten years earlier in Manhattan and currently operates 15 stations in the state.
The local station provides various services for farmers such as grain storage for oats, wheat and barley, feed mixing, steam rolling and seed grain. Teslow Inc. in Missoula is a one-stop station for farmers in that it has available grain, feed, hay, seed, fertilizer and chemicals.
Teslow Inc. stock is owned by individuals in the state who are also in the working management of the company. Future plans include expanding the Misco line of feed to make it one of the highest accepted feeds in Montana.
In the Missoula area to better serve the farm trade, Teslow Inc. has expanded its steam rolling operations, added molassitizing equipment, overhauled their cleaning and treating equipment, and added a fleet of trucks so that they can better serve the farmers from plant to farms in any way the farmer requires.
The Missoula firm is in a position to store government-loan grain which allows farmers to market grain at a later date. The trade area extends south to the Bitter Root, north to Ronan, west into Idaho and east to Deer Lodge.
The local manager is Al Lillethun. Officers of the board of directors include Walter M. Teslow, president; R. M. Teslow, vice president, and Cory Dogetrom, secretary-treasurer.
[This mill was located at 801 Sherwood in Missoula. Missoula’s other large grain mill was located on S. 3rd. St. W.]
