James Alden Barber Jr.- Naval Officer & author of ‘The Military and American Society’

As I Remember by James Alden Barber Jr.[1]

Barber reviews his career as an officer in the U. S. Navy, at the Pentagon, and his life in general. He includes a chapter here on growing up in Missoula in the 1940’s. Barber’s father, Alden, worked for Art Mosby at KGVO, which was Missoula’s first radio station. Barber subsequently co-authored a book on the military industrial complex with Stephen E. Ambrose titled, The Military and American Society. See a review of this by George W. Collins at the following link – http://www.airpower.maxwell.af.mil/airchronicles/aureview/1973/jan-feb/collins.html
